As a red meat Venison provides almost certainly the healthiest alternative to Beef, Pork or Lamb. The meat boasts a lower cholesterol level than chicken, and has been a staple diet of the British people for centuries, long before the domestication of the more recognised farmed animals of today.
All venison produced is butchered here at the park and we can therefore cater for any requirements our customers might have.
In order to make this possible we have recently finished construction of a purpose built butchery unit with chiller on the premises.
We particularly pride ourselves on our sausages and burgers, but all larger cuts can be individually prepared.
The fact that the animals are slaughtered and butchered on site means that they are under less stress, as no catching up or transportation is necessary.
This is not only good for the rest of the herd but it is also manifested in the quality of the end product (this is considered to be Best Practice in the deer farming community).
